There is no clear option in the BIOS to change the fan settings, except for a very broad "performance" versus "power" selector which doesn't seem to hand control to userspace, ever. The BIOS still seems to trigger them, but on a highly irregular and unhelpful basis- we regularly get 90C temperatures under load.
